At the District Meeting on June 19, 2007, three additional scholarship
winners were chosen: Timothy Jordan, son of Jerry Jordan from John Deere
Horicon Works, Local Lodge 873. Jared Linskens, son of Cynthia
Linskens, Metalcraft of Mayville, Local Lodge 2053. Amanda Margelofsky,
daughter of Denis Margelofsky, Mayville Products Corp., Local Lodge 2053.
District 121 Organizing WIN!!!
IAM District 121 received an organizing victory on January 25, 2007 for 3 Diesel Technicians working at Ryder Truck Rental in DeForest, WI. Negotiations on a first contract started on February 15, 2007.
A first contract was ratified on Friday, February 23, 2007. Highlights of the agreement are as follows: 3 year Agreement with a closed shop and dues check-off. General Wage increase: 1st year - 2%; 2nd year - 2%; 3rd year - 2.5%. Implement IAM National Pension Plan: 1st year - $34 per week; 2nd year - $36 per week; 3rd year - $38 per week. Earlier access to vacation time off for new hires. Conversion of three set holidays to three floating holidays to be used at the employees discretion.
